Post subject:  Dulon, Duracryl and Berger Paint Stickers

I'm currently building a database of these stickers to have them remade for the Mini range.

Every colour in every sticker type.

So far, I've made up 209 templates (and I'm ready to go postal from staring at the screen).

I've used the paint charts from the BMC range from 1969 onwards, as these were the years that the stickers were applied I believe in lieu of the bulkhead ID plate stampings.

I have seen examples of paint schemes from earlier model years that have been performed on later (post 69) cars. Examples would he Mk2 Coopers in Shadow Blue and White. In these cases, would a sticker have been procured, or as a one-off, it went without?

Can anyone give me examples of later cars (post 69 onwards) with early paint schemes?

Mick

Sorry, I know its not what you asked, but sometimes, when a non-standard colour was used the stickers were hand written. Being a kind of thin foil the writing is embossed into the aluminium.

There's an example in this thread on the Moke forum;

Hi Mick

On the same subject there is also another paint sticker.
I was looking at an old GT forum site and came across a body and prime sticker. Two types shown.
B.L.M.C and LEYLAND.
Found on or in the right rear bin pocket from my understanding.
Take a look cos you may want to add it to the topic.

Has any body got a photo of a Australian Clubman GT paint sticker and what was the original location on the car.

Regards Pete.

Hi

That's the sticker!
There is also the same sticker but has Leyland in the centre.
I have been trying to send a photo to Mick so thanks for your help.
Can you tell me any more information about the stickers.
Should the Australian Cooper s and Clubman GT have them and are they found in the right hand rear storage bin?

Regards Pete.

Oh that's the one..

I happen to have that sticker right here!

I scanned it in some time ago. I never thought to have it remade... Its the kind of thing you can print off on a standard printer and glue on with a little bit of clag. It is in fact standard paper for the factory's benefit only, and was never meant to last the ages.

This one was stuck (like in the photo) on the driver's side seat pocket, and was protected by the lower seat cushion.

I could have it remade, but it would be glossy and therefore incorrect!
Not everything on a mini has to be expensive and difficult to remake ;)

There is a site of a non mini car club that has them just forget what one now ill pull out me hard drive out of old computer soon and have a look in the favorites for it they had my colour am blue i remember

Nsw p76 club has them

The NSW club has recreated the underbonnet stickers which are black print on silver background. The sticker set also contains the stickers for the wing badges. They also have ‘paint code’ stickers for all Leyland P76 colours. You tell them what colour your car is and you will receive that paint code sticker in your order. I asked for ‘black onyx’. Price is $20 plus postage. Contact Jason Birmingham: ley076@bigpond.com

Copied off there pdf down load and ive seen them at a stall they had at a car show at eastern creek last year

I went out to the shed and took a look at my Clubman GT for a body and paint sticker. I am happy to say that I found one on the rear left hand bin. It is located on the outside of the bin and is still in good condition. Has Leyland in the centre of the sticker. Not sure if I should remove to copy?. The GT must be some what original inside.
I have not yet got any information regards a paint sticker for the colour of the car. Should it have a paint sticker under the bonnet?
I would still like to get a paint and body sticker for the Cooper s being B.L.M.C in the centre. Could you or some body else help?

Regards Pete.

Well the Mk2's had paint stickers, and I always remember the later clubmen having paint stickers on the inner guard. Unless they stopped at some point I thought it went straight through? It was always important that they have it indicated somewhere on the car, even to this day they do this on the modern build/compliance plates.
