Well I could use enough for a Morris 1100 which is about the same as two Minis, so I'm in for two lots.

Where do you think it's too big?

Also where did you get the one you say was similar, do you have any left for comparison?

the non original is 1mm wider, but as you can see its much more rounder and the hole is bigger... if that makes sense

Brett, is there any way you an do the following measurements accurately, interested in the difference.

Also, when you tried this seal did you use original pinch mould. I ask this because the original pinch mould and was it install the right way around (it has an inside and an outside edge) If it was not original or the wrong way round it could add to the thickness?

I have a feeling that is the same as the stuff I was looking at. :(

How can 1 or 2mm Stop your door from closing?

I'm puzzled how that could be.

I mean doors will close with seatbelt hanging out the door......

I was hoping Brett could take some more accurate measurements.

I've been desperately busy with work so haven't been able to follow up much more

Last week I ordered one of the modern seals that is pinch mould and rubber combined (from mini king) to replace my passenger side one. I can now see that the tolerances are very fine. The new seal makes it quite a bit harder to close the door. I'm sure it will settle in but just goes to show there's not much in it.

It seems that what Brett tried is the same product I was looking into. Certainly looks the same.

Hi Phill

I have been watching to see what the out come is on this post and at this point I would have to agree with Brett.
I have been down the same road with the new rubber trim. The doors will close and I used silacon on the rubber to help but it is still too much pressure on the door to allow it to close as it should.
I was lucky to find new old stock, Pinch weld and rubber and the difference is that you can close the door with ease using the door handle.
The Rubber has to be thinner than the new rubber shown in your photo's but of the same mould to fit the pinch weld.
Measure the sample I sent you to compared to the new rubber and you will find it is that 1mm to 2mm thicker.
Maybe finding a manufacture is the only answer for a group purchase.

Regards Pete.
