This is a pic of the original stuff. I will take a sliver off tonight and scan it in with a scale in the background to work off.

I suppose it was a little more rounded once upon a time but this is what you are looking for.

Ta Mick, is that all rubber or does the part that goes under the pinch mould have something bonded to it?

Phill - these guys are just a few km from me, if that helps you.

They show the various profiles and pinchweld here - http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/catalogue.htm

No idea of quality and suitability for your purpose. Have you tried the usual Mini suppliers?

260.114 on page 16 looks like the right one.

.....you know photos of NOS pinch mould will upset Brett don't you. Such a trouble maker.

Yes 260.114 looks like it should work, also 260.148 looks promising. Thanks Doug I knew of Scotts old Rubber but everyone says you can't find it so I just assumed.....

Might see if they can send a small sample of each.

This is what the factory specified for the Australian Mini with wind-up windows. Includes the pinchweld (see pages 26-28 of Scott's catalogue).

Going by the part numbers they are the right ones for a Morris 1100.
So unfortunately they are wrong for a Cooper S. They are just too long.

Here we go. This is a cross section sliver I removed from an original seal (approx 1969) and scanned in. The hook at the end of the leg holds it into the pinchweld a little better.

Thanks Doug but I've got a funny felling thats the stuff where the rubber and pinch mould is bonded together, note the date is 1973 and says first used on YDO21.

So is Doug's factory drawing of the more usual door seal with integral pinch weld?

I think so, thats what it is shaped like, it's on one of my doors. Did they introduce the integral pinch weld on the Leyland Minis?
