Hi guys , I'm up to the stage of putting the doors back on but I've hit a road block , I am unable to read the markings on the back of my hinges as where to put them , is there any way to know what position ( upper, lower, left or right ) to put them ?

Cheers Jarrad

The numbers embossed on the hinge parts as pictured in the second of drjbeam's links are for UK sourced hinges. Those manufactured in Australia should have UL & LL (upper and lower left) and UR & LR (upper and lower right).

I came back looking for this today when pulling apart some hinges, both these links are very good. Probably worth adding to the How To section about working on doors.

Bits of the old cardboard gasket can sometimes cover up the letters.

If you can't make out the letters,
The ones with the big angle outwards are top ones.
The ones with the slight angle inwards are bottom ones.
