If any Ausmini members are restoring a subframe and wish to add the finishing touch of the "MOWOG" label I have available a plastic template for spraying the name.

Anyone interested just let me know your address and I will mail it out for your use. The only thing I ask in return is that you send it back ASAP after you have finished such that others may make use of it.

Awesome idea! I wish I still had mine out! They had a star as well, right?

I am doing mine just now and starting to reassemble. I didn't see it before I stripped it. Where does it go?

Ditto "mattywood": where does it go? I have never seen a stencilled Mowog on any front subframe.
There was a part number in yellow on the rear subframe but since it faced into to the floorpan step, it would never be seen.

I think it may have only been early minis that had the white mowog painted on them (like 850 early) happy to be proven wrong

It's a very specific font isn't it.

Are you doing the front subframe 'mowog'?

I know that my '67 S had it upside down sprayed in white.

As far as I can determine the "MOWOG" was stenciled with white paint on the front vertical face of the front subframe, not sure of the rear though. Whether this stenciling is a later modification I am not sure but the subframe I am doing at present is from an August 1968 car.

Also on the Mark 1 forum is a thread that suggests the stamped star might indicate what displacers are fitted to the subframe. Presumably the subframes were built up before fitting to the vehicle so that would make sense.

Looked to me like the stencils were painted with a roller rather than sprayed on.
