Just checked whilst on the hoist and it is a AEG312 which suggests it is a Cooper S 1275 block stamping thick deck

The engine number looked like a pretty bad restamp anyway.

It'd make more sense with a Y than X

Yes very much so, it could explain the engine number and would fit with the Cooper S register missing numbers?

Well it finally happen, I now own my first mini. :D
Picked it up in Melbourne and now back in Adelaide. It has been off the road for 10 years but not for too much longer. Just waiting on some new number plates to be made (with original numbers) and then will be on the road. Can't wait :D :D

Cheers
Craig

Hi, I'm Peter. I am restoring/renovating a 1970 MK2 Cooper S. I live in the northern suburbs, Brisbane. I have owned 3 Cooper S's - two Mk2's and a Mk1. My family has had a few other minis are well( a van, a couple of clubmans and my brother had a supposedly ex-bathurst Mk1 S. My first Mk2 was my first car, purchased in 1976 (sold in 1985)., the Mk1 purchased in 1977 and sold soon after, and the current Mk2 in 1983. It has been apart since then. Hopefully I can remember how to put it back together after 33 years..... I will start a build dairy at some stage.

HI all I'm Julie from Brisbane, I started out with the P76 :) then I fell in love with and had 3 minis in my early 20s and was in MOCQ fell pregnant and couldn't fit a pram and seat in a mini so sold it and called my son Cooper hahah.

Now 14years later I finally have time for another, so I bought a Spanish olive 74 mini, shes in pretty good nick for her age and I'm slowly fixing up general things and hope to get her on the road this year then paint and a new engine in the next 2 years.

Welcome,

Q How long would it take the average Guamanian to drive around the coast of the whole island? (1/2 a day?)

Cheers, Mick

hahahah 1/2 day is too long maybe 2 hours with a few stops...

Neat :!: By my reckoning, you could fit 14,139.75 Guam's into CONAUS
