Hi All,

I am here to get back into the old school Mini Cooper 'S' or Clubman GT.

I was once in the pit crew for Lakis Manticas at Hume Weir when he was racing against Peter Brock when he was fibre glassing his 1070cc Austin Mini Cooper 'S' to light weight it, many nights were spent tuning his cars in Woy Woy and testing it and I got fibre glass in my skin, young and foolish in the 1960's.
I have had many Cooper esses since then, the last was 1970 model which was sold several years ago. Maybe someone knows the owner and I can buy it back.

YG2S4 2700 has popped up here a few times in recent years when it was sold and resold. The last I saw it was at Mini and Moke World last year getting the engine bay and boot resprayed. She looks nice now. Ex police and Camino Gold MK2s are very sort after now so I would expect the price to have gone up a lot if you want to buy it back. I am sure someone on here knows the owner.
Here are some links to the for sale discussions on Ausmini and its current engine bay on facebook.

Hi gang,

Just want to introduce myself. My name is Ben and I have recently become the caretaker for this 77 Clubman Van.

This is the first Mini I've laid my hands on so I'm jumping in the deep end a little, but i'm sure with the info on this forum we'll get there.

It has a Mini K 1098 engine in it, a later dash and has had the heater removed and replaced with an aircon unit. It has a few electrical gremlins in it at the moment, so the dash is in bits at the moment, but the plan will be to get it all squared away so it can be used as a daily driver.

I look forward to chatting with you all,

Regards,

Ben

PS:
I'm sorry, I can't work out how to rotate the picture the right way up.

Hi i am rod from SE Melbourne and i am new to Mini's
A complete mini noob with no Mini at present.
My idea is rebuild and slowly restore a 1970s ( as close to august 1972 as i can get) era mini learning as i go.
I plan on doing as much as the work as i can.
So basically i am here to learn and ask questions before i purchase.. Then ask questions after purchase. Then beg for help when stuff goes wrong...
In return
I am a paint guy i have worked as a subbie for Holden Ford Toyota for nearly 20 years.
So if you have a paint problem i probably will know someone who can give you a answer and help.
I am very happy to help.
Anyway i will be lurking on the forums learning before i purchase anything. If anyone has tales of caution i would be happy to hear about it.
Thanks for the Welcome hope to chat to you all over time.

Hi Guys,

I own a 2004 Mini Cooper, BMW (Oooo Taboo Word, run for the hills). However I have my eyes on a 67 morris, so you'll be hearing of my adventures with that soon enough....

About me, well I'm 17, an "Automotive journalist" in other words I piss around on the internet, and people seem to enjoy it. I am currently Living in a top secret location, on the Illawarra highway NSW, just past Sutton Forrest... Bugger, ive given it away.. And have adored minis since I was a wee tacker. My Pop had one, he used to spin me around in it for some fun, unfortunately that car moved on....

Anyways, Hope you enjoyed the read....
Cya round the traps

Will

Hi Will, you should try and make it along to a Minis in the Gong drive. The next one is even through the Southern Highlands so right on your doorstep :D . All Minis are welcome!

Hey all, Marc from Flinders (near Wollongong) here. Not long ago bought a 66 van to restore after a chat with a friend convinced me to get back into Minis. Had a Clubman about 25 years ago that I was restoring and sold before I had the chance to finish it.

As you can see the van needs some love, but I'm keen to get the job done and hang on to this one!
