Hello, Peta here from Brisbane. I've got a 1959-62 mini that i bought in shell form 16 years ago that has been 'getting done up' since then. I think i'm 3/4 the way there and have decided to pull out all the stops and finally get it done.
Here is a pic that i took on the weekend when i went through a to do list with my dad.

I'm looking for businesses or anyone who can help me finish her.

There is a list of Mini related businesses here - viewtopic.php?f=41&t=83593

Matt Read is probably the closest to you. He has a lot of experience, plus new and second-hand parts.

Good luck with the restoration. It's looking good so far. :P

Hey guys, I'm Mike from Perth, Australia.

I picked up a 1977 Mini off a friend last year who pretty much did all the restoration work and rebuilt the engine when he was living in QLD a few years ago. Sadly his new family commitments (and garage space) didn't allow for him to hold onto it so I did the right thing and took it off his hands...keep it in the circle of friends and all that.

It's running a 998cc BMC A-series with a stage 2 tuning kit and Mini Sport ST510 mild road cam. Most of the parts are original, including the drum brakes (which will be upgraded to discs when time and money permit).

Hi, My name is Ray, I live in Sydney, I own a 1939 Morris 8 at the moment, looking to buy another Clubman GT when the right one comes along (been looking for a while now and still looking...lol). I owned a 1971/2? Cubman GT, bought it from Larke Hoskins at Miranda. I now find it was an unusual build, Camino Gold with Gold stripes and white interior... It was considered a demo, but only had been driven by the Manager of LH, so I am thinking if it is a rare combination, then it was probably a 'Special Order". I sold it after about 2 years because of hefty Insurance costs... If only I new then, what I know now....as the song goes... I think the NSW rego was DIA772...
Anyhow, thanks for the ad to the site and hopefully I can get hold of another sooner rather than later.

Welcome Ray.

So the mighty Mini made a suitable impression back then that you want another? Most Mini enthusiasts will understand. Keep looking and hopefully the right car will appear when you least expect it.

Did you keep any paperwork from the Clubman GT days? If you knew the car number or body number you could see if your old car is listed on the Clubman GT Register.

Hi Mike, that is one neat looking clubbie, nice and bright green. Nice mods, discs will make a huge improvement in the braking department. I found I didn't need a booster with discs, stops pretty good. Then again, you do have a bit more room in the clubbie, might be feasible.

G'day People. I'm Rhyso from Karana Downs in QLD. Bought a genuine Ausbuilt 09/72 Clubman 850 a year and a half ago. My first car was a '74 Leyland Mini S 26 plus years ago. Long time between drinks(minis). In the process of restoration and finding out how original this car actually is. (it's the first mini I bought that actually had the original factory vinyl floor mat and interior) Look forward to any help, comments, laughs etc that anyone can provide.

Hi there Darkbrow, welcome to the vinyl floor mat club. As far as I can gather, there is not many of them left around any more.

Hi. Having had a 68 Deluxe followed by a 79 Moke Californian back in the day, I'm back in the market for a Mini. Want to buy a round nose and happy to do some work on it. Would be great to get some feedback on dry vs wet suspension. What do people think about which system is better. I'm leaning toward dry but is hydrolastic such a bad thing?

Welcome Stronners...update your profile with an area or location. That could mean locals and others can advise you what is about...Cheers, Mick

Hi all
Names Luke from Canberra and I'm just beginning a mini project. Picked up a 1988 jap import rover mini rolling shell in a pretty bad way today so currently on the hunt for as many useable bits a possible without spending a fortune and somewhere to ask questions and learn.
Thanks in advance.
