toy444 - suggest you start a new topic in Members Mini Gallery folder with all your photos and narrative. Re-post the images you've already posted here so they are together.

Hey all, newbie member here on this site, been a member on TMF for a few years now.
Have just been tasked with the restoration of a 1966 Mk1 Aussie deluxe, so what better site to join!
Currently have a 1275 Supercharged clubman, runs well.
Hope to join in some conversations here and ask the odd question too if that’s ok.
Cheers
Chris :D

Hi everyone,
My name's Clive, l live south of Brisbane in the Redlands. I have just got my Mini, bought in 1978, back on the road after a long break of 13 years. Thought I'd share a bit of the journey in a album of photos http://users.tpg.com.au/hcgordon/minigallery/Rebuild_2015/index.html.
Been a long journey, hopefully every picture tells a story. I owe a lot to a few special friends who have helped, they know who they are.
Thanks.

Hi Clive.

I know we discussed previously whether your car is ex NSW Police. Having lowered seats and reversing lights is a pretty good indicator. I also note in your library of photos that there are three holes in the leading edge of the front subframe. They look perfectly spaced for a BMC sump guard which was also a common accessory for Police Minis.

Do you know if there is or was a pair of holes in the leading edge of the front parcel shelf in front of the passenger? If so it really confirms Police use as the car ID plate was screwed there. You can see the holes in my restoration thread here - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=98057

Cheers,
Doug

Hi Doug,
There weren't any holes in the leading edge of the front parcel shelf in front of the passenger. It does have what looks like the siren holes in the driver's side flitch panel, I have used the holes to mount a VH44 booster replacing the original Lockheed one, on closer inspection they are higher than the ones shown in you photo. It did have holes for driving lights in the panel below the grille. The photo was taken before I bought the car, hard to make out any detail. I think it a bitsa, it had had a extremely hard first 8 years, when I bought it in 1978 it was in a very ordinary condition. It has had the front passenger guard replaced and possibly other parts.
Regards,
Clive

Hi everyone. Thanks for the acceptance into the group.

I have had minis on and off since I was 15 and have just picked up someone else’s half done project. I am so happy to have a mini again, and this one, to me, is something very different. It has all the work done for a swift gti conversion. After watching a few YouTube videos of these things, I can’t wait to put it all together and feel 100 ponies drag 1/2 a tonne of mini down the road.

I have a bit of rust work to do before then, so first job is to build a rotisserie and get down to business. I will post some pics once I organize a Dropbox account.

Cheers
Adam
