Hi All, I am on the brink of re-entering the mini owner world after a long hiatus. I had a 67 Deluxe when I was a wee lad and looking around for a nice one now. I have found one with a good body, but mechanically below average. Now to decide if I can fix it or not!

Cheers
JD

Mechanical parts are the easy bit! Hope you find a good base for your project!

Thanks. The hydro almost on the bump stops has me the most worried. Everything else I can handle.

I've a deluxe that's been conveyed to rubber cones it's commonly done so I wouldn't let the hydro worry you, as Tim said the body is much harder and more expensive to deal with IMO. You never know it might just need a pump up and that's it...

Hi guys, been in the group for a little while but not overly active in the past due to other stuff going on. Aquired my '68 Mk1 cooper S a few years ago and drove it for a while to iron out some of the mostly age related mechanical issues. Was originally saphire blue but has been repainted by a previous owner a bright red colour inside and out. Car is in reasonably good condition and doesnt warrant the full strip down that most of you do. The current paint job is quite poor due to a crappy preparation and there are a few rust bubbles to cut out in the usual places. A fire in the boot has made the rear quarter a bare metal respray. So the plan is to prepare the outside for a repaint, staying with the current red n white roof and get it back on the road asap. Starting point is about 3-4 weeks time when current project is completed. I plan on starting a members car page for the resto.

Clip, the current project is jacking up and supporting a load bearing upper floor section of my house to remove and replace a cracked timber beam with a custom made steel universal beam. Be awefully glad when its completed

Thanks, I have updated my profile.

I ended up passing on that one. I checked it a little more closely and decided there was just too much to make it drivable for the price they were willing to accept.

Still on the hunt....

Hi Dono.
Fellow Chilean here :)
What part of Chile are you from? I'm from Santiago; been here 40 or so years. I drive a 77 Clubman.
Good luck with you Mini hunting.

Eiles
