Gday all - Jorgan from Canberra,

6 weeks ago bought my 998 76 Clubman Kermit from a bloke in Bundanoon near Bowral, NSW - thanks Marconi for the tip! Have no mechanical whatsoever... Previously drove 850 Mini in 86 in the UK whilst staying at a friends house after Year 12. Have to admit that I worked there at a VW/Audi after sales doing, well nothing much, but I succeeded in scraping a brand new Golf Van along a brick wall then burnt out a clutch on the work VW ute. I think I liked the Mini because I can't park for shite.

On return to Oz bought BRG Morris panelvan in 87 with the tiny 'sunroof', had an electrical fire (really just smoke) so drove into petrol station - yeah I was quickly shown the door. Car ended up being written off after being hit behind drivers door after going through Stop then Give Way signs blew 0.085 but coppers were kind.

Bought reddy/orange 1275GT in great nick then sold it for some godforsaken reason.

Bought baby shite (nugget) brown 78 LS1275 like Poeee & Bathurst in about 88 was also in great nick except kept slipping out of 4th gear. Took it on a trip to Braidwood for a hockey dinner and the accelarator stuck doing about 90 clicks on bendy roads which scared the shite out of me. Probably just needed some WD40 or a cable (there that shows by mechanical knowhow). Sold it to a bloke who travelled down from Sydney who must have been laughing at the price and the condition.

Love the forum although the wife reckons I must be on some porn site.

Hello all I am Scott, I am currently in UK, wife and I gave up Aussie for a year back in 2000 (lol) to come and buy a Rover Cooper to travel Europe and UK in, 4 years on and we are still here, more Mini's then we should have and seen heaps, been to all the shows you can dream of and having a blast, this is our last year here and will be coming home after the show season, We are from Newcastle originally, but Manchester now, current Mini's in Shed Aus Shed 1964 Morris 850 1967 Morris Mini Minor ex NSW Police Station Car 1970 Mini K Van all cars restored back to showroom condition and driven not hidden well when we was in Aus Oh and hence the name wifes One owner 1968 HK GTS Monaro Bathurst Special, UK Shed 2000 Rover Mini Cooper with John Cooper 90bhp S works Converstion this is our work horse and has seen 55,000 miles of travel, we bought it new and have been all over Europe and UK in it, recent accolade was the Italian Job charity run down to Italy and back 2000 Rover Mini Cooper 500 Le, one of the last 500 Classic Mini Built, this is a real gem and sure glad to have been able to buy it, it wasnt planned but when seen it on the showroom floor we couldn't hold back Feel free to mail us or post anything, yes there could be space in our container one return thanks for reading Scott

Hey guys.. My name is Marcello and I am in central Sydney basically. I have always wanted a Mini since I was 12 and after joining the forums (its excellent BTW) as IWannaMini I ended up getting one..!!! Its a 1968 roundnose panelvan with original engine, later model radiator and NO RUST..!!! Panel beaters were nice to cut that all out, respray her in BMW purple and sell her. All I need now is brakes, a proper engine and registration..!! Its sitting at mums now waiting for me to work out what to do with it..!

Hi guys and gals. I'm Gavin from Akl in NZ. Been a fan of Aus Minis (Clubman GT) for years as they were always more advanced than the UK versions. Currently own 2 Aus Clubman GT's (one roadworthy (73), the other 'in resto' (72), a Clubman 1100 (72) and a 2002 MINI Cooper. Just got the 1100 car in preparation for my son getting his licence (BTW, they get it at 15 here!). He had his eyes on the GT's! Look forward to 'meeting' you all someday. I'll probably be asking for 'bits and pieces' to finish the resto GT once it's body is back from the plastic surgeons!
