Wasn't it Barry Gurdon's? Not sure if it had a "trading as" name.
The Bathurst car races had their scrutineering done there.

It wasn't "Gordon" - "Gurdon" or "Girdon"

Heaps of internet hits on GURDON MOTORS.

Now all you need is to find a sticker for you back window and a cover for your passport to service.

Yeah, Im pretty sure it was Gurdon Motors as well. From memory they were on the corner of Durham and George Streets. I have a feeling it became Windsor's Garage for quite a while before they moved further down Durham Street.

Yes, a closer look at the original brochure shows GURDON. Thanks everyone for the correction. :)

Yes it was. They essentially founded the Bathurst Light Car Club, held their early meetings there. They may have morphed into Macquarie motors eventually in which case it may not be the same building I referred to earlier but same general area.

There are some newspaper articles that have Gurdon Motors at 218 Howick St Bathurst.

Gurdons were active in sponsoring several cars over the years and it was the scrutineering garage for the big race in the days when they examined your engine in detail after the event....

When you get it going Kath, take it to Bathurst and get a photo taken at Barry Gurdon Drive (next to the mountain). There should be a street sign to photograph it next to.
You may not be able to get a shot in front of the dealership itself. If the address gtogreen1969 suggests is correct, it's an IGA now - although I guess you could take a "symbolic shot".

Looking at that dealer list, I never knew some of those dealers were BMC dealers.
