For a while now it seems that the only MK2 S oval bonnet badges available are the printed repro ones. They standout as very cheap and nasty. I came across one today that looks like the original badge with the raised lettering. What are your thoughts? It looks to me like an original badge and for $35 seems like a good price.

nice... it'd be good to take my original badge off and put a good looking reproduction on until I restore it

I guess they've worked out that there is a market for decent quality reproductions and the technology needed to make them in small numbers is cheap enough

Cheap repos probably not made in China. They wouldn't have got the spelling right.

Has anyone had a crack at ordering the badge? The website is in Portuguese, and although Google does a reasonable job at translating I have not been able to complete the transaction! Any tips appreciated.

I had a quick look.

Create an account. http://minishop-portugal.com/loja/create_account.php On the signup page they ask for a VAT number?

Then go to here and click on the (COMPRARA) Buy button. http://minishop-portugal.com/loja/produ ... dpks90ftn5

Click on the (ENCONMENDAR) Order button.

Then there is a note saying the order has to be more than 30€ so you may need to add something else to the order.

Then at the checkout it says "The delivery can only be made in commercial establishments". That's as far I got because it didn't like my PO Box address.

If you are keen for these badges then I would suggest you email them and see if they can help with the ordering and the language barrier. comercial@minishop-portugal.com.

I received the following reply to my e-mail -

Hello,

Sorry but we dont ship parts to Australia.

Melhores Cumprimentos / Best Regards / Saludos
Bárbara Costa

I have a mate in Madrid, so I will try with his address and ask him to on-forward.

Can you confirm they are the same as the photo. You would hate to go through all that trouble and find that they are the printed repro style and they have used a different image.

I have an e-mail dialogue underway with Barbara, basis delivery to Madrid. If it is workable I will ask for photos, etc, to minimise the risk. Happy to add to the order. Working / reverting!

Great work Wakka!

I too was a lil sceptical that maybe they used a picture of an original badge and they would send you out a printed style badge... :?

If they can confirm that it is indeed the same as in the pic i would be really keen to put my name/money on one Wakka if you wouldn't mind. :D
