| Post subject: | Rear Seat Cushion wing nut. |
Can some one advise any information regards the wing nut that holds the rear seat cushion to the seat pan in the Australian mini. The parts manual PUB 1056M states N.L.A. with no other detail so looking for a photo and some detail regards thread and size etc, or even better some for sale.  Cheers |

Mine is missing the wingnuts as well. I haven't looked at what thread they are yet. |

Take your seat squab to a fastener shop and get matching wing-nuts from their stock. |

Can you re-attach the thread to the seat? Is it replaceable? Mine is one short.. As for the wingnut, at some point the thread changed as my 78 ones didn't fit the 71 Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk |

In the later Clubman parts book the wing nut supercedes to part SYN29. According to the BMC Standard for unified wing nuts, SYN29 is a No 10 (.19") UNF thread zinc alloy die cast wing nut in plain finish. I have two rear seat cushions with all four wing nuts and washers missing, which I can understand. The cushion is a friction fit and usually stays in place without wing nuts once the two little bolts are in their holes. Attachment: Page NY-13A Wing Nuts.jpg

3/16W also fits. Same pitch as UNC. |

Every seat I have ever seen has had #10/32 unf threads sometimes incorrectly referred to as 3/16 unf #10/32 in very common thread used on a Mini and all BMC cars of the era. |
