I was informed today by Pritsic (former ausmini member) that Ivan Glasby, the gentleman who ran minispares and repairs in castle hill for decades, sadly passed away this week. Ivan found out last year he had cancer and went down hill very quickly. For anyone that met Ivan they would know him as a true gentleman, who had many a story to tell and was full of knoweldge on all things mini . He also had a huge wealth of knoweldge of race cars(particularly British open wheelers) from the early eras and owned quite a few as well.

Rest well my friend. You will be missed.

Put the kettle on and have a cuppa lads. Raise your mug to Ivan.

Top bloke. He was always good to me. He loved to have a chat, show you his toys or just reminisce about his exploits in South Africa. RIP mate.

Very sad news indeed.

Ivan was a great help to me when I was restoring a rare Rhodesian Austin 850 as information on them was indeed very hard to find.

I just heard about this, such sad news, i worked for Ivan for a while in the early 2000's and have known him for most of my adult life. Guys like him and Kevin (Dr Mini) took the time to share their passion for cars with an impressionable young lad, teaching me heaps and sending me well on the way to being a full blown rev head!

You will be missed ivan

Very sad indeed, a great loss. An absolute gentleman, one of the nicest people you could hope to meet and a wealth of knowledge.
