How much did it cost?
Where did you get it done?

Why not have a go yourself? You can't go too far wrong , even if you use SC Auto mixed up spray paints, it'll be good enough for under bonnet. Wire brush and rust converter works well.

I dont have the tools or the knowledge to pull the engine out. The car also has some dodgy wires hanging about that i just dont know what they are for i would rather pay a professional to do it and get all the wires right. For little bits of rust what would you recomend i know you can get like rust stopper sprays from supercheap auto.

bump up.

Hi all, just wanted to re-open this thread, I will be looking at exactly the same job on my leyland mini next year (engine bay derust and re-spray)

Could someone please let me know the rough figure to expect for $$ repairs? Rust is very minor (mostly surface) but would require effort to tidy up and re-spray.

Also, where would you recommend in Melbourne? previous posts have suggested Link Automotive. Just wanted a couple of options to weigh them up. (Happy to drive to the right person).

If its easier, pm with your views.

Much appreciated.
Best, Richard
