The engine is otherwise complete. Installing a Quaife. With the diff housing on (gaskets included) and the gearbox in neutral, should I be able to spin the outputs by hand? If I put it in gear and spin the flywheel, the outputs turn. Even with the side plates off, it's still the same, so it's not a shimming issue. Maybe I just shouldn't be able turn it, which seems odd to me? Don't want to move on at this stage...

I'm able to shim it to 14 thou without on of the side plate gaskets, so that gives me 1 thou movement with the gasket in? Just the plain "non-genuine" side plate gasket. Put all the shims to the passenger side?

Wasn't happy. Spoke to Mr David Walker. Pulled it apart. Rubbing between Quaife and diff cover right at the drivers side end.

Last one I fitted needed the 6 bolt heads machined to clear the casing.

Crownwheel bolts were fine. It was at the other end. Quick buzz with the dremel and it's like butter now.
