the only other thing is to check you dont have a water leak. i had a brand new hose leak with a pin hole
dont presume the bits new its good. same with rad caps even if they are new.

pressure test the system with a proper tester. should hold 113 psi with a 13lbs cap

Good idea I might pop into a rad place. No external leaks evident and you can feel it holding a fair bit of pressure. But will check in case internal. No real water in oil that I can see

Check your thermostat as there have been a number of failures of new thermostats over the past few years. I have no problem with my supercharged engine with high flow water pump, new yellow plastic fan and good quality alloy radiator. Plus engine was thoroughly flushed when built. During most of the year my car is running too cool. I also run the heater all the time as I am using the hot water to warm the super charger inlet pipe.

Thanks michaelb. I checked the thermostat and all appears to be working and opening well. I ran the car tonight with the new aux rad installed. Ran perfectly in peak hour traffic, but of course it was bloody cold tonight! Each little improvement seems to be helping. Fan and shroud seal next and I'm actually thinking that she'll be right after that.

Encouraging that yours is cooling well so that means I should be able to get mine sorted! :D
