You can also get these (although a bit expensive). They replace your old regulator and have a main fuse inside!

I have fitted 2x 40Amp breakers inside 1 of mine. One for the feed to A1 and another for A. Plenty of room inside for that.
Glad it is of help Phil850 and gtogreen1969.

I have also done this Mod to Voltage regulator and removed everything from inside it and mounted two Mini Bosch relays and two fuses inside and used them as Headlight relays. Very discrete Modification and not much wiring to add.

Hi,
Great post and extremely timely.
I've just followed the process but just wanted make sure that the only brass straps that are cut are F and D.
Cheers,
James.

Yes only the F and D strap need to be disconnected/cut. Don't forget to de solder or cut the 2 wires going to the E terminal.

These Dummy regulator boxes are rated at 22 Amps. Not much chop with Alternators thatcharge more then 22 Amps..Also be aware that the main charge wire on the D terminal on generator is also not capable of carrying the charge that an alternotor can produce if it is higher than say 32 amps. If installing a big output unit this cable will need upgrading .
