 Post subject: su twin carb manifold id

Could someone tell me if a su twin carb manifold stamped aeg573 p still classed the same as a mark 2 manifold aeg 573 or are they different. cheers

There are 4 AEG573 manifolds that I have seen. You would have to check with the rivet counters at show and shines but I think any manifold showing the AEG573 should be ok for a MK2S.

The first casting was numbered AEG573 only and very roughly as well. The AEG573 was located at the front right.

The second was AEG573 P. The first of these used the early manifold and just added a P below it.

They then re-casted the manifold and the AEG573 P was moved up to the top of the manifold.

The fourth was actually used on the Clubman GT. It used the later casting but had the AEG573 ground off, the P remained and then the number 12G2463 was stamped into it upside down.

I don't have any documentation to back up my findings. Only what I have seen.
