A Register of Australian assembled Morris 850's was posted today - viewtopic.php?f=54&t=95881

You'll note in the introductory comments that, unlike the other marque registers, it is not intended to include all available data as there were over 60,000 vehicles built. The intent is to populate the list with data from a representative list of vehicles so that owners can estimate the production date, delivery date, engine number and colour of their car.

Submission of missing vehicle data is encouraged so larger gaps in the data can be filled.

Thanks Doug,

If anyone is able to add any data, corrections, handbooks, sales dates, photos of ID plates etc please let us know at morris850register@gmail.com

If you can add a car with the Australian car number, and any/all of the below that would be great:
CKD number (if applicable)
Engine type and number
Colour
Radiator stamp number
Purchase date

Thanks, Tim

I'm very pleased to see the register re-instated. It will be a useful resource I'm sure, especially if it can be used to determine some of the significant change points.

I find it really interesting that one of the early cars (body no. 1090) has an engine number only 9 numbers away from the engine that Longbridge fitted to my Traveller in January 1961. One engine must have gone into a box bound for Australia and the next one funneled off to the assembly line.
