I came across this ad on Ebay for a "Austin 850 Cooper" Sales Brochure supposedly of USA origin.
Can anyone throw any light on the a car being named Austin 850 Cooper?

Believe Sir Stirling Moss had something to do with the launch...

That was the proposed name for the car in the US. Similar to Australia, they didn't call the car "mini" at the launch, it was called the 850. They thought calling it the 850 Cooper would mean people relate it to the other 850 model

Similar to the Morris 1100S using the "S" to trade off the good name of the Cooper S

Pretty sure every Mini actually sold new in USA was a Cooper. Any Mini to them is a `Mini Cooperrr' ;)
