Shout out to Matt Read aka The Miniman. Today I used his How To advice to refit the radiator to my 850 restoration. Having always done this task the tedious by the BMC book way for 25 years, it was a revelation to have the whole assembly dropped in place in about 30 seconds flat.

For those playing at home, Miniman describes in a "how to" post undoing the left engine mount and jacking the engine up under the gearbox to give clearance to remove and refit the rad assembly over the fan. Well, it works a treat!

The only problems I encountered were getting the bottom rad mount bolts back in place and tight (but I need to buy a 1/2 inch ratchet ring spanner to speed it up), and getting enough clearance between the oversize harmonic balancer and the radiator lower shroud mounting bolts. I have about 1-2mm - not much but that was all I could get.

Ready, if you are ever in Hobart I owe you a beer. Cheers!
