43D would be the replacement dissy for the 29D non vacuum dissy. The advance curve and total advance would be different to the original Cooper S/ GT but in my opinion probably better.

Here is the curve for the accuspark unit.
Attachment:
43D accuspark curve.jpg

These are the readings of the original Cooper S / GT dissy.
Engine RPM / Crankshaft advance
650 rpm / 0 - 2 deg
830 rpm / 4 - 8 deg
1000 rpm / 8 - 12 deg
4000 rpm / 18 - 22 deg
7000 rpm / 28 - 32 deg

43D are common. Same as a 45D but the vac advance mount is covered. People call them 45D but they are stamped 43D.
Used on all the 1975 on 998 rodchange Mini and Moke here.

Police cars had the stamping AYG0272.

Thanks do you know what centrifugal unit would be a good replacement from the British made distributors? I don't think I can find a centrifugal advance 29D. The one in my car has a vacuum advance unit.

All distributors (except those adapted to electronic control units) have centrifugal advance.

What's wrong with the one you have?

Cheers, Ian

Unless you have some strong desire for “originality” a vacumm advance is a VERY good thing to have..

Depending on how and where you drive you might expect fuel savings of up to 30%.....

Cheers, Ian'
