I have the above pump and was wondering if there was a kit available to bring it back from the dead.

Wow, that's one of the very early pumps with the C clip locating the bearing. I'm not aware of a source of parts to refurbish it but I recently got a restored cast iron pump with cast impeller for my MK II S from MKO. John Smidt has someone who overhauls these for him. He may be able to help so suggest you give him a call (0427 671 314) if you don't have luck elsewhere.

I found a bearing on eBay. I got it from MG Spares.

Bit late, but parts book shows the spindle & bearing come as one unit 12A1389.

That's the part I'm after, spindle and bearing. Does any one have the dimensions?

Larry,
I believe a mate of mine in the ACT recently overhauled a cast iron pump for his S. He is a stickler for originality (none of this alloy crap!).
I will ask him what he did regarding the spindle & bearing. He is a machinist so maybe he made his own. He designed & made his own spot welder so he is no fool. I am guessing the bearing is a generic item and can readily be found.
May take a few days as I only see him a Club meetings.

I have tracked down a source for original water pump repair kit.

Depending on interest from forum members I can get a kit for $150 posted.

Please PM me if you are definitely interested.
