78 Leyland default cooling setup 1100cc engine how hot is too hot?
The engine sits in the low 80s but creeps up with a bit of hooning and traffic. As we are getting into the hotter months just asking what should the engine temps be and what is the max temp i should run the car at?
Thanks in advance

80-90 is fine. 100 is getting a bit hot depending on the coolant you are using. Plain water boils at 100c

Water won't boil at 100C if the 13psi radiator cap is sealing
That said, 100 is a bit hot. Check your radiator isn't clogged internally.
Also check your ignition timing isn't retarded.

What would 100 degrees relate to on the gauge ? Like 3/4 or above ?

Well above 3/4 I think.
On a roundy gauge, 82C/180F is about in the middle.
