Does anyone know where I can get a complete trim set ?Mini Sport have them but I would like to look at the quality before I purchase. I live in Newcastle, a bit far to go to see the trim set. Maybe someone else has bought them and can comment ?
Thanks

I bought a set of trimmed front and rear door cards for mine. I haven't put them in yet as I'm collecting bits for a when I do a my re-colour. The door cards are not as "flat" at the original ones. The padding is thicker and the welded seams are more prominent.

The quality is good though and I will be using mine once I get to that stage.

Hope this helps.

I think the minisport ones might be made by Newton, the cards have a made in England sticker and the part number matches to their website?

The usual cautions apply when examining interior items manufactured outside Australia, such as by Newton Commercial. There can be confusion over the Mark identification for Mini models in UK versus Oz (Mk 1, Mk 2, Mk 3, etc.) and the style of finish. For example, the picture of the rear seat shows the style we used in the Mark 1 series Minis but the heading shows years 1964-71 (it should be to 1969 only).

http://www.newtoncomm.co.uk/cars/classi ... 1964-1971/

That's not to suggest any problem with the quality and fit as I've had no personal experience. If originality is not an issue then that removes one of the evaluation criteria.

Untrimmed door cards for Oz MK II Mini are available locally from this supplier on eBay, or some of the other parts suppliers.

These guys do POLYWELD reproduction door trims for the Mini but only a basic round-nose style and a Clubman style according to the website.

http://www.prostitch.com.au/shopdisplay ... Door+Trims

I assume the original Mini styles could be done but it would probably mean a commercial assessment by the manufacturer to recover the tooling and development costs.

Newton Commercial do an excellent job , I have had a few trim sets from them .If you want it to be as per your original car , you need to send them some pictures and accurate measurements and they will give you a price to make it , they are very good to work with :D

Edit: The door trims end up a bit thicker as they put foam padding behind the vinyl , but you could specify them without the foam , they will make anything to your specs

Apologies for labouring this but I just want to get it clear beacuse it's news to me.

Mick the Trimmer arranged for POLYWELD to make a set of MK II Mini door cards and rear bin cards exactly like the originals (as per the picture below), is that right?
