DO NOT use Molasses! (unless heavily diluted, and even then, thoroughly rinse clean) |

Supercheap bulk degreaser, mixed 1:1 with water. Do NOT use neat! Soak for a few hours, use a hand bristle brush to get into nooks and crannies. Then rinse well with water. I will send you a pic off phone of how mine turned out. Pics sent. |

Supercheap also sell a few different types of aluminium/alloy cleaners which work quite well , use a toothbrush to get into the tight areas |

If it has the fine thread recessed brass screws and the screwdriver slot is damaged, use a hacksaw to cut down through the tower to cut the slot deeper. Then screw out with wd40 and a hot air gun if needed. Then buy a new screw from eurocarb UK. Worked on my 45DHLA, years ago. If the M7x0.5 thread in the body is stripped, I can fix with a brass insert. |

Attachment: 20171216_160246.jpg That failed white vinegar and water doesnt Pics coming soon The Supercheep is alkali I may have left it a little long The white vinegar is mildly acidic and i can scotchbrite it and get a nice result I am letting them soak in the sink again. This may take overnight but its working I have black crap on my hands and the carbs will come out beaut .I hope the plastic floats survive the trauma lol This process may get in them fine threads and help my dilemma. If I cant do it I will refer to a surgeonNo one here saying get that out of my sink lol Hope this helps someone.Next time dont dilute the white vinegar This may take days now but will be a good result. Dilute chemicals take longer to react I didnt realise now potent the supercheep stuff was .Will post results and hopefully dont need surgery |

Even the butterflies are cleaning up Wow Thanks Kev I aint no engineer just a bloke with one main trade and learnt others through mates and night courses I crap myself when they were black but its easy reversed.. The Supercheep stuff is alkali and it formed black crap I realised I had to go mild acidic White vinegar All clean used Loctite Freeze and release and the mixture screws releases...Just Waiting on kits now The float retainer pin looks flimsy |

I think Devcon would fix broken float holes I knew a bloke 12 ported six cylinder Holden heads using Devcon It was fine with petrol but no good with methanol and speedway Same guy did my 940 head and did it wrong with big shiny ports to impress me and used 1100S intake valves as he said it would be unreliable to use 1.401.Well I got a mate to fix that and we put the bigger valves in .Pity the ports werent just cleaned up.The S has a 286 cam 1.5 rockers and is a pig down low Hell breaks loose when it comes on the cam Sorry for going off topic but its all experience |

I soaked em overnight in white vinegar and water good result .Still not happy went to Coles and used straight white vinegar Yepee Tomorrow a sink full of white vinegar and they will be like new.Scotchbrite helps but im a lazy crap.Done as much scotchbright as I can handle.Use straight white vinegar after Docs method |
