Hello everyone, long story short my fan belt snapped the other night so now I'm looking at different options and set ups.
(1) I currently have an alternator from an un-know car fitted so I'm after a high amp (more stock mini) replacement. Any suggestions?

(2) I noticed the mini seemed a lot quieter running with out the fan belt, I assume the fan is making most of the noise so what options are there to make this area quieter?
What mini fan is the quietest?
What's involved it converting to an electric thermo fan? What's the most reliable setup?

(3) A bit out of left field, has anyone solid mounted the alt down low and fitted a tensioner somewhere?

I've recently got a 45A unit from Tony (convertible mini). With the standard metal 16? blade fan it runs pretty quiet. Apparently the quietest is the plastic one, but I've seen a couple disintegrate!

I still have more in stock and I also have the 70 Amp Rover type Alternators which are $180 posted. The fit on with no mods required as well. Message me direct if you would like to place an order for one. Thanks for the plug Tim I appreciate it. This is what keeps me enthusiastic to try and keep good quality Mini Electrical parts available to all mini enthusiasts at a good price.
