As some of you know, I'm painting my 1970 C/S back to its original colour(s). I am having some difficulty in tracking down a paint code specifically for the Spartan paint. As opposed to the Jet Red in Dulon which seems to be the colour the paint suppliers are mixing.

The Dulon Jet Red does't have the orange and black tone of the Spartan Red I'm trying to replicate. The Dulon s a "real" red colour. Very nice I must add, but a little different to the "orangy" red of the Spartan version.

Does anyone have an old Spartan mix for the Jet red in the colour chart below? My next option will be to do a spectrometer match from the dash rail which is in perfect condition as it's been protected by the vinyl all these years.

See below the colour charts showing the 2 Jet Reds available at the same time pulled from winabbey's paint colour post. Also at the end is the paint stickers.

Okay I can confirm the Spartan and Dulon Jet Red's are different. Thanks to Ken, I've been able to get a Spartan mix done and the ingredients that make up the colours are different, as is the final colour output as you'd expect. Due to the inaccuracy of the age of the paint or other variables, the colour is still not right.

Subsequently I'm settling for a match of the dash rail and using that as my master match.

Thanks all contributors.
