Yep I was there, and kazjim, and Anto and Mini-T, and Graham in Aust (off MS board) who ran his race 1293 Mini on its debut outing. Yes it still runs, it didn't break. Lotsa Minis were there.

No, kazjim and I didn't race, we just went for a look.... 8)

Yeah I was there, it was bloody awesome. I haven't ever seen so many race Minis before! Unfortunately I didn't get to see the VTEC Mini run, but there were some seriously fast Minis there. And it was a nice run out in my Mini along the old Hume highway, but my Mini seemed kinda slow in comparison! Only had the few Mini service problems on the way - dicky clutch, stuck throttle and half a pint of oil...... You know, the usual stuff

Maybe VTEC Minis are not as reliable as the venerable A series...

I know- it was an ALL BRITISH day- the Honda stayed in the garage 'coz she'a a-not British.... :P

I couldn't believe they let BMW Minis out on the track. Didn't have the same buzz as the real ones - in fact you could hardly hear them at all. No thanks, I want a real one :)

When I saw the detail that went into mounting the VTEC where it didn't belong, and the suspension, I shook my head.
Pretty much the whole front end was fabricated tube, front guards looked longer too. OK so it is a race car- but no way would I have one like it on the street. Gimme a nice simple install, like a Suzi GTI or Toyota Starlet turbo...

yeh kev your spot on, to have a mini on the street and be legal you must have the original suspension system in there, you can get a vtec in there without taking it all off, but it is alot more work.

Damn, Spotted again......

It was a great Day, I dragged My dad along and he couldnt stop talking about it all the way home !

Pity I had to leave early (had to go to work for a while... bugger)

But I've started to think about building another engine (Big-Block this time...) and "maybe" getting back out on the track....

Austminis4u - COuld I get you to send me those pics in High-Quality ? - I'd love to print that nice one of Graham's car and Drop it into him next week - he can stick it in the album with the rest of them !

Cheers
J
