Hello All,
Just fitted the black vinyl dash trims ,top trim is easy to fit. The bottom trim which is the one where the switch panel is, a pain to fit .Although it is done now. I only have approx. 2 or 3 mm of vinyl in the opening where the switch panel fits. The aluminum switch trim just covers the vinyl .Has anyone had the vinyl shrink which would show the paint ? The aluminum switch panel trim should have been larger and made from SS. Took me 4 hours to do a 1 hour job.

Sounds about right.
The original vinyl doesn't shrink. If there was a lot of vinyl over-lapping the opening, I think the trim piece would not be able to hold back 2 thicknesses of vinyl.
No restoration job is predictable because you aren't doing it all the time.
If you planned on it being a 4 hour job you'd be pleased it was on time!
