Hi team,
I have been asked to price a car for some one else and was looking for thoughts from the ausmini "experts"

1972 Mini Clubman
Completely dismantled
Has some rust in front floors and rear below boot lid. Rest of the car in the photos looks reasonable.
Mid blue colour which is faded so presume a repair and respray required.
Seats have been eaten by mice so will need recovering
No engine or gearbox
Car is located in west of Sydney

Whats a reasonable estimate?
$2000?
$1000?

Cheers

So really you're looking at a complete rebuild inc, tyres, brakes, alignment, fluids, seals, interior, drivetrain etc purchased and the tools needed to refurb what you get and assembly + hours labour. Then you'll have a reasonable 72 squarefront, in the market a running one of these will be in the 5-10K mark. So realistically no one who wants to do a full rebuild is going to bother.

Reality suggests the buyer is someone who needs it for parts/panels and $500 is high as long as they can sell whats left over and reclaim some of the funds. I'd suggest starting the price on ebay at $100 and hope for the best, there are plenty of rusting hulks sitting on peoples properties that are worth $1000's in the owners heads yet worthless in the market...hence rusting away.

My son paid $350 for a 71 clubby on eBay last year in that condition.
He's doing a full mechanical 1300 rebuild but a cheap home paint job, car is now in por15 all over. But he's doing it as a fun club car, not to flip for $$.

I might need to revise my estimate because in the past week I have seen a couple of clubby shells go for only a couple of hundred.
