Have a gear box, remote change D 22G68 with a serial number of B47304, the lay gear only appears to have a very light stamping of what appear to be small letters BW inside stamped box, nothing else is visible, is a 3 speed syncro. Any info on what the BW might be please, do not think it is anything special.

Hi Graham, if you count all the teeth on the layshaft you can determine what it is

The BW on the gears and the B on the gearbox serial number refer to Borg Warner Australia gears. The original engine number would have finished with a B.
This would most likely be a Mini Deluxe box.
Not all cars got BW gears.

I was told by a prominent Mini parts guru that the BW gears were better quality than the English made gears.

I talked to Graham earlier and it’s a Morris 1100 sandwich plate remote box with standard ratio laygear and 15/64 diff ratio (4.27)
