Another exhaust question.
Does anyone know what the story is with twin box exhausts on a cooper s?? Were they standard or an option?? I heard they came in with the mk II?? I guess it's just to keep it a bit quieter?? Can anyone throw any light on it??

The Service Liaison Summary produced when the upgraded specification MK II Cooper S for NSW Police was released in late 1970 (SPO41) mentions the removal of the resonator as per the Mark 1 Cooper S, so a two box system would appear to have been a standard fitting on the MK II.

I'm fairly sure the MK II Cooper S I bought new in 1969 had a resonator in the middle.

This may have been discussed on here previously. Perhaps try the search function?
