I am a little confused with all the talk about 1275 Cooper S distributors. As I understand it all the above distributors are used and none have the vacuum advance. I am not trying to be a concourse winner, I just want my Cooper S to run properly.

So the quesion is which do I use?

1970? Then 29D

These were used from 1969 right through into the GT range.

The 25D was used in many different models - Mini, Lotus, MG, Triumph etc with vacuum advance
23D was the non- vacuum advance version

29D was Aussie made (others were UK) but can share some parts

Yes, I should add as I didn't answer the original question of your post.

The 29D is just a little harder to rebuild, being a bit of a quirk. The 23 and 25D dizzys are more supportable as there was millions of them in existence.
