I have just fitted a new wiring harness from Vinwire. Everything works except the windscreen wiper motor .The wiring is a bit difficult on the wiper and the switch. I blew about 6 fuses and I knew the wiring looked correct .checked with MM.
John sneddon came around to fix the problem .He fixed it ,faulty wiper switch probably not a common problem .Just to let you know switches do fail.

Was the original "faulty" switch the correct type? The wiper switch for the 12AUW wiper motor is unique, although it looks externally like the light switch adjacent to it.

Did you go for a single or a two speed wiper motor?
