I am wanting to purchase the Mk1 carpet set , I have heard it does not fit too well , has that been now rectified

The template for the Mark 1 carpet they sold previously was taken from an actual carpet loaned by Link Automotive. An Ausmini member posted on here saying there were a few issues, such as the front carpet being a bit too long. The dimensions of both the Mark 1 and MK II carpets (and the Clubman GT for that matter) are the same. I understand ACC now cut their Mark 1 carpet from the new dimensions on the BMC drawings so it should fit, but please ask them the question and don't rely on me.

Are they also doing the underlay?

Yes, but the material is not the same as original which had possible asbestos remnants in the hessian surface and also absorbed water. I believe felt type underlay is included in the price.

Cheers for that information and it looks really promising for the future production.

Rang all car carpets today and had a chat.

David said they will have samples at the Melbourne 60th mini show in july for people to look at.
They also sent me some photo's to view.

They are tooling up to make/cut the under felt at the moment as well as making an original toe pad. Should be about a month.

One would have to say a big thank you to Doug :D for making this happen.

Cheers.
