the repair kits themselves are between $25 (karcraft) and $40 (mini$port SA) each, so you're paying between $60 and $90 for the reamer and guide... I've only ever used an adjustable reamer on them, as per Mick's how-to: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=45978 the photos are blurry, but it looks like an adjustable reamer... |

Yes, it is an adjustable reamer. The reamer alone is available for about $30 on Ebay, which using Simon k's numbers makes it $30-60 for the guide. While that sounds kind of expensive, I could not find a reamer guide long enough anywhere a year or so ago. So we used the live centre on the lathe to keep it aligned while reaming. I'd probably buy that kit if I thought I'd do more than one pair of rear arms in my lifetime... which I probably will. |
