I have one for my rover, it was built in 87 and is 80,000 cars built before the one you were looking at.
Production of cars in 87 and 88 was around 75-80,000 cars so the 1989 build seems fairly likely.
Just wait 8 months and it'll be cheaper!

I recall talking to a guy about his rover once.
He said one bit of paperwork said 86. One said 87, Another said 85. So he just went in the middle...
30 years seems to be the cut off.
Duty is now 10% not 5%
And GST remains at 10%
The asbestos stuff has come up, but I'm not sure how many cars actually get targeted and pulled apart / what era they think is the most likely culprit for gaskets and brakes.
