This will not work its a dual circuit right?

You could get it to work with some appropriate pipe plumbing but it's not the original style. Better to get the original I reckon.

Quote: "Australian Minis from around 1969 to 1976 were fitted with plastic tank master cylinders, made by either Lockheed or Girlock. Lockheed master cylinders have a cast iron body and the Girlock master cylinders have an alloy body, but are otherwise the same. In contrast to the tin tank master cylinders, plastic tank master cylinders are 0.75" bore diameter for the brake, and 0.7" for the clutch.

This style of master cylinder is no longer available new."

Not sure this claim is accurate: I have here an alloy body with cast-in "LOCKHEED" and .7". The Abridged workshop manual quotes Clubman GT as having 0.7" as brake cylinder diameter.

Only Oz Mini with 0.75 brake MC was the 850 I think. All Cooper S and GT here definitely had a 0.7" brake MC.

Basic hydraulic theory says you should use .75 for the clutch because the larger piston moves more fluid.

And use .70 for the brakes because the smaller surface area gives more line pressure.

But it may differ depending on the engineering of the circuit.

Don't confuse the OZ Clubman GT with the UK 1275 GT. They are 2 different beasts.
The OZ Clubman GT is a clubman fronted MK2 S. The running gear etc is all MK2 S in the clubman shell, apart from the last few cars which didn't have S blocks. Unique to OZ.
The classic motoring link has the brake and clutch m/c sizes reversed.
IIRC all OZ minis, apart from early 850s up to car No28044 which had a 0.75" dia m/c then 0.7" as the good doctor said, have 0.7" brake master cylinders and 0.75" for the clutch. Sometimes it's hard enough to get the clutch to release properly with the 0.75" m/c let alone with the 0.7".

Edit: Early 997 Coopers with the brake pressure intensifier may have had a different m/c size to the 0.7". The dark blue shop manual TP 832 1971 seems to show this m/c as 0.7" up to car No 2056 then 5/8" dia after that.

Thank you for this information. I have found a friend thru this forum that is helping me get the right M/C for this GT. Thanks

How do I get to remove that last nut in the back in between the clutch master and the brake master? You have the clutch line and hydrolastic line blocking it not to mention the nut in the front holding the clutch master cylinder. It was a b/:;( getting that pin on the pedla out. Thanks

I found this plate where the brake master goes and i understand any spacer here affects the brake pedal. Does anybody know if this is original? I put a gasket before in this location and it affected the clutch in my Mini K I had to remove the gasket I made. Any help is appreciated

It's there to align pedals evenly.
