What a fun job fitting these 2 trims ,seems to me they are not made correctly. I had to cut the trim where it fits under the binnacle and remove some board ,and I also had to cut where it fits next to the door seal. Anyhow they fit good now 3 hour job. Anyone had the same problem ?Tomorrow I am fitting the head lining I have fitted them in the past.

Did you get the correct ones? The Mark 1 and 2 trims are different.

the trim fits ok around the binnacle curve ,the ends are not correct that is why I had to modify them

I can't explain or help with the problems you are having, but I completely sympathise. In the past I have made my own backboards and it is easy to make them slightly too big and stuggled to fit them into the curve of the dash. Recently bought a set of Mk2 boards for my mini K and covered them with my own vinyl and they fitted really easily at both ends!! Was very happy.

I struggled too, mine has clubby vents so double painful.

What is the best product (the board material) used to make these and door cards etc?

Doing the same job on mine at the moment. Initially bought 3.2mm Masonite from Bunnings, but not enough flex to fit. Today I am buying 2.5mm modelling ply. Will see how that works.

A local auto trimmer may sell you the cardboardy stuff they use.

From experience, I don't like your chances of that ever happening.

My mate's an upholsterer so he let me ring up and order some.....works well. Have enough for some cards if anyone close wants some......
