Long time no post.

Things have slowly settled, as such time to re-invigorate a moke time.

Having difficulties starting his now newish motor. Was running 12 months ago.

Megajolt is getting power, as is coils and EDIS (have spark at plugs)

Fuel is going in at a great rate (some fresh 98)

Engine is spinning by hand and trying so hard to start.

Put the multimeter on the battery when trying to crank over (new battery, 13.5v) and voltage will drop to 8v (even with my very limited knowledge of wizard electronics, I reckon that's a bit too much). Connected my other car in a jump start fashion, again, will not crank over. Took plugs out engine spins absolutely fine. Add compression and no go. Starter is a Gemini

Help?

Try clutch starting it first then try starter again

Have you checked (very carefully - Megajolts can ...Jolt!) that you are getting spark to each plug gap?

I’m not sure if the minimum power needed to run the megajolt, but the blackbox system doesn’t work under 10V.

If you have a second battery perhaps you can run the megajolt directly from the spare 12V battery to eliminate this as a problem?

You could also take your battery in to an auto electrican or battery shop, they can tell you if it’s still any good. Have you charged the battery?

Try disconnecting the coil and wind over without spark. If winds over slow check battery and starter and all connections. If it winds over freely then check the timing. sounds like it could be too far advanced. Voltage dropping below 10 volts while cranking is not good for any ignition system.
