Is this filter used in all Mini's and if not which models use it?

The one removed from my 1970 K does not have the bypass switch, though it does have the mounting face with the hole unthreaded and I assume that there would be a least one more hole to activate the switch.

The oil pressure differential switch on the filter head was deleted in 1968. It compared the pre and post filter pressure as a way to highlight a possible dirty cartridge.

There is an oil filter warning light (separate from the oil pressure warning light) on the instrument panel.

As far as I can tell the part attached to the oil filter head, part number 13H1492, is used for the oil pressure light on the dash and will not affect the operation of a Cooper S if it is not connected. Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct, it will not affect operation if not connected.

Just to clarify the terms again in case there's confusion:

* 13H1492 switch on the side of the filter head is the differential switch to highlight a dirty filter, with light on the dash.

* The switch to highlight low or no oil pressure is on the side of the block for non-Cooper S models. On a Cooper S it's replaced by a line to the oil pressure gauge on the dash.
