I have been lugging around a spare hydro frame for the cooper s just incase I needed it for 20 years. Only just noticed the numbers. 21A2159 and 21A2160. What are the odds. |

Part numbers... 21A2160 is a Subframe, Rear, Hydrolastic. http://www.minispares.com/product/classic/Suspension/Rear/Hydro/21A2160.aspx 21A2159 may be an earlier one prior to some revision that warranted a number change. |

Thanks Tim, I had just assumed they would have been the same part. I will keep an eye out for any differences in them. |

Are those two numbers on the same subframe or two different ones? I think 21A2159 is just the internal part number as it doesn't appear in any vehicle asset parts list I've seen. From that assembly other subframes were made with slightly different features and different part numbers to uniquely identify them, 21A2160 being one of them. It's the same principle as casting numbers on engine blocks, cylinder heads and the like. One casting is machined or modified to suit different applications, each being given a unique 'public' part number that appears in the documentation for that vehicle. |

Thanks Winabbey, The 2159 is off a 71 or 72 clubby 1100. 2160 is off the 71 cooper s It seems the 2159 may have had the UK rust module installed, it is in a pretty sorry state. |
