Can anyone point me to where I may find a supply of 997cc pistons, both Mini Spares and Somerford no longer carry stock of the pistons only the rings.

Are 998 Cooper above.

I would bore it and fit 1098 ones. Then deck block a little to suit. Stroke isn't much less than 1098 is.

I bored a 997 block to 68mm years ago they are pretty thick walls.

Thank you for your responses - looks like I may be on the right path now.

Just measured the engine and to my delight the bore and crank are both still standard, may require clean up maching though.

Crack test the 997 crank they are well known to crack. :wink:

A little off topic but are original airfilter pancake type for coopers rare sought after etc ??

I thought the repro ones were not correct in the way they mounted... Might have a pair of originals here somewhere :P

Pairs of originals I have seen on UK ebay have generally sold for quite a bit...

Mk1 sprite and cooper are almost the same one has captive nuts and one has bolts that go thru maybe the uk repro is sprite
