Hi All,
I have just picked up a nice rust free round nose shell where some numpty has previously cut out the inner guards for an engine transplate, which I will arrange to purchase and get welded back in . Unfortunately I am unsure of the model as the build plate on firewall is missing and all I have is the body number imprint on the firewall.
I have noticed the front support strut that is straight up and down on my other mini (behind the grill) is on an angle towards the right. What would that signify?
Is it possible to identify the model from the body number?
also how difficult would it be to get registered?
Cheers
Tim
Having a chassis number on the firewall will make your car a Mk1.
If the chassis number is on the passenger side then you should have an early 850.
A high chassis number will discount a Cooper or Cooper S.
The vertical brace was used on the Deluxe, Cooper, 850 and the 1965 Cooper S.
More info or pics would help.
Is the car dry suspension or hydro?
Sliding or windup windows?
Wipers park to the left or right?
What is the chassis number? Within 10 will be ok if you don't want to say.
