A) Cut a slot in the screw heads with a hacksaw or a Dremmel and use a screwdriver.
B) Use a centre punch to undo the screws.

C) drill a hole in them and use an easyout - the ONLY time I recommend using an easyout...

If removing permanently (as we did for our 71 Clubby getting centre speedo) use Mr Anglegrinder.:)

Wasn't the actual steering Column lock one of the ADRs of 71?
So removing steering lock permanently makes the vehicle non compliant ! Yes ? No ?

Some 71 Clubbies still had the centre speedo binnacle and switchgear. No steering lock.

So it could depend on what ADRs this car has stamped whether it is legal or no :?:

ADR plate is optional. Not needed for NSW registration if missing...;)
Who would check this anyway. It's a club car.
