Still a bit stumped on this one. Wiring is on drivers side near front apron. 2 small holes on inside of scuttle panel. I was sure it bolted to the subframe but no holes? |

When you say scuttle panel do you really mean bonnet slam panel? Where the wire is draped over. That is where my horn is located on my '65 Riley Elf. |

Cars with the horn on the subframe near the radiator usually have two extension wires plugged in to the loom with spade connectors near where the horn was sometimes mounted on the driver's side of the bonnet catch panel to make the wiring reach.

I mean I'm nside panel infront of the regulator. |

So no extensions. The provision is for somewhere on the drivers side. Does anyone have a stanrd delixe photo of engine bay with mounting locations? |

You won't be able to see the deluxe horn location from an original engine bay photo. Its too hidden. It was attached to the front subframe. This thread viewtopic.php?f=3&t=95625 shows the horn attached to the subframe after it was dropped out the bottom. The 2 holes are on the front face and a 90 degree bracket is used. Attachment: Deluxe horn attached to subframe.jpg Attachment: Subframe holes.jpg And another Attachment: Deluxe subframe and horn.jpg If you don't have those holes and don't want to extend your 2 wires then just use the flitch panel holes like in these 2 examples on a MK1 S and MK2 S. I think the early Mk2 Cooper S had a bent bracket fitted to the front slam panel. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

If the slam panel is missing the 2 holes then the car may have had the horn attached to the inner guard under the booster. The 1971 S had it under the alternator.

This is a 66 UK Mk1. You can see the horn attached to the front panel by studs inset behind the slam panel and the horn is held on with 2 nuts. Pic shows horn twisted up, in line with heater control valve. |
