When I was young and stoopid in the 1960s, I was offered a Ferrari (275 GTB) for around $11K...it might just as well have been a million dollars in todays money :?

Yeah... but if you had a time machine you'd go back to 1900 and put a few pennies in a bank, then go forward to 1965 and buy the Ferrari, then go forward to 1995 and buy Amazon shares.... and maybe even jump to 2004 and buy some Bitcoin....

Careful what you wish for...in the 70s, you could not give a V8 car away, petrol rationing, odd and even number plate days, kilometre long queues outside service stations, people died (from over exhaustion from pushing cars, and I remember one tragic case where a fella was crushed between his car door and a petrol bowser)...etc etc
